Write the dictionary before you redraw the dashboard
Pretty charts cannot repair event names that mean three different things across three squads.
- instrumentation
- naming
Application analytics work in Busan product teams often starts with a request for “better dashboards.” The faster fix is usually a shorter dictionary: object, action, context—owned in the same place engineering already reads.
Ban marketing adjectives inside event names. Prefer properties for plan, surface, and experiment so the base verb stays stable after a rebrand.
In baselines we routinely find twenty near-duplicates of the same click. Collapsing them beats adding another chart nobody trusts.
If renaming an event takes a week of archaeology, the dictionary—not the colour palette—is the problem.
